DANNA-RAE EVASIUK
Composer / Sound Designer

Evasiuk is a Canadian audio artist based in Tiohtià:ke / Montréal, Québec. Drawn to radical, visceral, and whimsical stories, she blends analog and digital technology to mesh vivid clarity with raw authenticity.

A graduate of Red Deer College’s Theatre Production and Design program, she co-founded Theatre; Just Because, worked as an Artist / Educator with the Royal Conservatory of Music, and was a playwright in Teesri Duniya Theatre's Fireworks development program.

She is a member of Dizzy Bones - a collective of artists creating punk rock, surreal, poetic theatre that plunges into absurdity. Their work is made for a world that no longer makes sense and they’ve stopped pretending it does.

“The biggest creative risks...are the work of Evasiuk. The sound design conveyed the liminality of limbo very clearly, and a sighing drone underscored the monologues allowing the audience to dream rather than merely visualize the stories...”
